JEWELRY MAKING TECHNIQUES

How to create a simple loop for your jewelry making project

You'll need a pair of round nose pliers, along with a pair of nippers for trimming the wire. We don't usually recommend this technique if there is any risk of the drop getting pulled or caught on anything.

How to create a wrapped loop for your jewelry making project

You'll need a set of round nose pliers along with a set of nippers to trim off excess wire. This is the technique we use when working with head pins and eye pins to make sure they are completely secure. Using this method will stop you from losing your dangle if it accidentally gets pulled on.

TIP: We use a sharpie to mark our bent nose pliers as a guide to where we create our loop. This allows our finished pieces to have a uniform look.

If you see these icons while shopping for a kit, this is the technique used.
